Easter Treats

 

At the end of the term we made 3D easter eggs with crayons and to celebrate a fab term we all got a bunny rabbit easter egg.

 My name is Shark Fin, I have a shark fin so I can swim after fish and eels.  I am the strongest bird in the forest and I am the scariest too.  I have six legs, four arms and five eyes.  Three eyes are green and two are red.  I can smell over 2000 miles away.  I eat anything.  I am the most dangerous bird ever invented.

Hi, My name is Birdosaurus.  I have three long tails, six legs, a Santa's hat, high heels and a grey bow in my hair.  I eat other creature's, that's why I'm called Birdosaurus.  I look very pretty and I love to sing.  I have three long tails so I can poison other creatures that try to hurt people like shark fin.

Hi My name is Fantail Dog.  I am half bird and half dog.  Everyone thinks that I am scary.  I have one tail, two ears and I'm a fluffy one.  I'm a girl and my colours are green, pink, orange and yellow.  I can bark and I use my tail to push people over and hold stuff.  I use my ears to listen.

My bird is KFC and it has huge spikes .  We eat KFC for dinner.  The kFC bird has 14 legs and it has sharp teeth.  The spikes are not sharp.  People hunt my bird at night.  People get scared of the KFC bird because they think that the spikes will get them.  It is KFC coloured.  It can camouflage in KFC.

Hi, My name is BJ Im a bird and I am crazy.  I do spinning, jumping, it is crazy to be a bird.  I fly around to look for food and blend in with my surroundings when a predator comes.  I camouflage into anything when something is at the back of me or at the front of me.  I am an adventure bird and I look for stuff.  I am green and strong.  I have two eyes and two wings and I can fly.  I can fly 200,000 miles in a day and I live in the forest where I hunt for food.

My birds name is Sally.  She has a colourful body because she has colours all over it.  Sally's body looks like a rainbow.  She is colourful so she can hide.

Tyrannosaurus Rex is the biggest bird in the world.  He has big wings to catch food and other predators.  He has the biggest feet in the world to catch fish and other food.  Tyrannosaurus Rex uses camouflage so he can hide from predators and then he can catch them.  He looks for food and fish.  He is the scariest bird in the world and he can go faster than any other bird.  He can change colour when he is scared of other creatures.  He can catch predators, he has sharp teeth and a long tail so he can get them.

My birds name is Lava Boy.   My bird has big wings and it has a long beak so it can get food when it is flying in the sky.  My bird is bad and the scariest bird in the world.  My bird goes three million miles up in the sky.  It is the longest bird in the world.  My bird has six legs, one beak and two wings.  Lava Boy can camouflage and change colour when it is in the sky.

Hi My bird is an Eagle.  It is bigger than a Hawke, it can fly faster than a seagull.  It goes down quick.  It is bigger than an owl.  It has a short beak, it has a short beak because it catches bugs and it has big wings because it can fly away from predators.  Its face looks like an angry bird.

Art Day

Room 9 had a fantastic session on Friday creating a stylised tree like the artist Kandinsky.
They all followed instructions well and used the materials to create their masterpiece. I was very impressed with the skill and ability to copy so well.

Rainbow Art

During the first week we did lots of talking about ourselves and we learnt about each other. Our theme this year is rainbows and bright colours. Our art work includes our name in the cloud and each ray of colour is a word that describes us.
They look really good on our wall.

We All Work As One!

We did a picture for art using our hands in the shape of a heart. It shows all our different skin colours, and signifies us working together no matter where we come from or what colour we are.
This was the finished product.

Pompoms

For our Big Book response to 'Eggs, Eggs, Eggs' By Jill Eggleton we made pompoms chicks. This took a long time but we got there in the end.

Amazing Bird Art!

We have been looking at birds because of this we decided to make a bird using shapes and coloured paper.  After this we wrote a story describing our birds, where we live and what we do.  Enjoy!

Hi, my name is Fantail and I love New Zealand.  I'm pleased to see you.  I love bread, do you?  I will tell you all about me.  I have a big head and I always go down 18 Duff Crescent.  They throw bread out all the time.  All the other birds join me.  I'm good at describing myself and as I was saying I have a big head, one googly eye, a long tail and a purple body part.  How was that?  Awesome?  I'll see you again sometime.

It is because they all have a family but I am single.  Do you know why I am single? Its is because I do not want a wife.  Do you know how I feel right now?  I feel free because I can go anywhere, I can hang on trees, I can eat worms and I can put my beak in the mud.

Ataahua's Kaupapa Art Display
