Collaborative Groups

We are working on a group of questions given to us by Whaea Stacey Anderson at Limehills School in the South Island.
What is your culture?
What do you do for fun?
What are your dreams for your lives?
Where do you come from?
What do you do outside?
What do you do after school?

Here we are working on these, we will post our answers when we are done.

Thank You to our Board of Trustees

We made a short video to say Thank You to our Board for buying us the iPads.  We shared some of the work that we do on them.  Whaea Josie took this to the board and they were so happy with what we have done and continue to do THAT..... we are getting 2 NEW IPAD MINIS.
We are so excited.  Watch this space for all the cool things we will do with those.

Our New Sponsor - SUPRE

Thank you SUPRE for supplying us with our new book bags, they are AWESOME!
We can carry them where ever we need to and they help look after our books.
We have our name tags attached so we have one each.
Pa Dave is making us a custom made bag rack so watch this space after the holidays.

Art Day

Room 9 had a fantastic session on Friday creating a stylised tree like the artist Kandinsky.
They all followed instructions well and used the materials to create their masterpiece. I was very impressed with the skill and ability to copy so well.

We had an amazing assembly today.  Room 9 worked really hard and were so excited.  We think everyone enjoyed it by all the laughing.
Have a look and tell us what you think!

The video we watched depicts the damage that humans do to wildlife.  This island is 2000 miles from the nearest continent yet is covered in plastic waste.
If you are interested in watching it yourself search for "Midway Island Documentary' On Youtube. I havent attached the link as some scenes may disturb younger children so please watch first.

This is our response to an environmental video we watched on Midway Island

We have watched a few of the Harlem Shake Videos that have gone viral on YouTube since they began on February 2nd 2013.
We thought it would be fun to have a go ourselves.
Here's the Harlem Shake Room 9 Stylez.

This is a slideshow of what we want to be when we grow up.
Sorry for no music but we used it in the background during our assembly while we stood and spoke.

Rainbow Art

During the first week we did lots of talking about ourselves and we learnt about each other. Our theme this year is rainbows and bright colours. Our art work includes our name in the cloud and each ray of colour is a word that describes us.
They look really good on our wall.

We All Work As One!

We did a picture for art using our hands in the shape of a heart. It shows all our different skin colours, and signifies us working together no matter where we come from or what colour we are.
This was the finished product.

Welcome back to School in 2013
