Our Assembly Term 4 2012

We had a great assembly today.  We all worked hard and it was a huge success.  Here are the video clips we played.  Our music video will be added once we are finished.  This will show the dance we performed today.

Charlie was listening very hard to Whaea Kat teaching today.
He had a great spot on the table and Room 9 could make sure he was joining in.

This is our principal Whaea Helena Baker. She was very excited to hear all about our kiwi and the adventures he will go on.

Today we named the Kiwi and his name is Charlie.
This is Room 9 on a beautiful day.

Our Visitor

Whaea Kat brought in a budgie for the start of our Bird Unit. He was pretty good all day but when we got too loud he would squawk and squawk.
It was nice having a new class member and hearing the chirping as we worked.

Kiwi's first day as Room 9s Travel Buddy

Hi my name is kiwi until Room 9 name me.
I was lucky enough to have been picked and brought by Whaea Josie today.
This photo was me visiting her mums house for lunch, we had ham on toast with cucumber and tomato. I didn't like the tomato much.
I can' t wait to meet the Room 9 children and Whaea Kat.

See ya soon Mrs Blackburn and badger class. I am being posted to you this week.
I think I will have a nap in the mail so I am relaxed and all ready for my new adventure.

We Are Famous!!

We sent a message to the Interface magazine (an educational magazine about ICT) as we wanted to be added to the blog list.  However, it wasn't working.  We are in the lastest issue of the Interface Magazine talking about our issue and how its all sorted now.  They have even included a photo of our blog and our blog address.  WE ARE SUPER EXCITED!!! Yesterday we had our first message from a school in Dannevirke because of this article.  Well Done Us!!!

We had a go at Puppet Pals

Bulldogs reading group were introduced to the app Puppet Pals and were given a task today.  They had to create a scene with characters and use different voices.
This was our first attempt.

When we had our dress rehearsal for our production we had photos around the venue for some fun.

WOOHOO!! We have had over 1000 hits!

So we have finally reached over 1000 hits on our blog.  So exciting!  Room 9 are loving being a part of quadblogging and have started to add their own comments and replies.  They will only get stronger and more confident in doing this.  We love watching all the countries that come visiting and reading what we do.

Statistics - Junior Style.

W Are Learning To: use tally marks to record data.
We all had a snack bag of chips and we had to work out the average number per bag.  We recorded one tally mark per chip we ate.  As you can imagine we loved this activity.  We also all know what a tally mark is and how to use it.

Quadblogging

We have been lucky enough to be accepted into the Sep - Dec intake of Quadbloggers.
This means we have been matched with 3 other classes from around the world. Each week one of the class blogs is the focus. Each class will visit the blog daily and students will comment on the posts.
This is an amazing oppurtunity to create an authentic audience for the children, get immediate feedback on posts and work. We also get to meet and talk with other students from around the world. I am hoping this is just the beginning of an on- going relationship with these classes that can continue.
