W Are Learning To: use tally marks to record data.
We all had a snack bag of chips and we had to work out the average number per bag.  We recorded one tally mark per chip we ate.  As you can imagine we loved this activity.  We also all know what a tally mark is and how to use it.

Our class rules by Ihaia

This is Ihaia doing our 5 classroom rules that we go over everyday.  He has grown in confidence over the year and I am so proud that he is able to get up and do this.  Ka Pai Ihaia.

Crying Caterpillar Poem and Actions

Crying Caterpillar
“Caterpillar, Caterpillar, Why are you crying?”
“I am not a butterfly… I can’t go flying!”
“Caterpillar, Caterpillar, don’t you know?
You have to eat and eat to grow!”
“You will be a butterfly.
You will go flying!
Caterpillar, Caterpillar, Stop that crying!”
